Another small achievement for me.
This year, after completing a gruelling Bike Rally 2008, I looked forward to the 10km AHM & Bay Run. Alhamdulillah it doesnt disappoint either.
Together with Raihan and Fuso, we became part of 70,000 participants for this year 2008 AHM marathon which sees a marked increase as compared to last year. Being my first 10km run after NS days, I set a humble target of going below 1 hr and when I crossed the finishing line just last sunday, I clocked 1.00.59. 1 hr exactly. Alittle disappointing coz I knew I can go faster. Probably 50mins is achievable next time around.
Nevertheless, I knew that 2 weeks going to the Marathon, I didnt have time to train wf faisal and I didnt run any further than 6km so I started the 10km slow but steady. With Daud's Oakley sports sunglasses, I ran alone leaving Fuso and Raihan who came in at good timings themselves. Im satisfied that I didnt stop to walk and with thousands running in the 10km route, it gives enough motivation to keep running.
For me It was a start. A start to many marathons to try and go for.
Hopefully I can get a better running shoe (other than given by Army) so that I wont get the same 2 huge blisters at the end of last sunday run.
