BIKE RALLY 2008 CONQUERED! Today marks a week after my second attempt at NTU Bike Rally 2008, the first being last year. The distance covered is the same, at 128 km but its the preparation this time around which makes the cycling experience this year alittle different. My bike undergoes several makeovers, with the gears changed and the brake pads too. We had several night cycling and day cycling practises with faisal and huz weeks before the actualy Bike Rally. So thank God, this year's bike rally went smooth and i came in faster (at 3.30pm) this year than about 4+pm last year. The main stretches were, West Coast, Lim Chu Kang Road, Neo Tiew, Mandai Road, Old Tampines Road, Loyang Road, Coastal Road. The journey was typically the same, with Mandai roads topping the scale for the worse road conditions. Its peaks after peaks after peaks. The lowest point in my trip lies along that stretch. Another crazy stretch would be along Hougang passing by Rivervale etc.. By the time we reach there, we would have covered abt 80 km. Leg Muscles are aching, bike feels heavy and my mp3 have repeated its cycle for the 5th time. The roads there are all straight and it sucks. Now its over, i cant seem to believe that I have done it again! I lose 1 kg (hopefully all fats) and my body feels fresher now. I hope to do something Big again. probably join a marathon by end of the year or swim a few kilometers. If i have the opportunity to race again, I'll make sure i get a proper road bike. wrote on 2:09 pm. Tuesday, June 03, 2008
BATAM - Harris Resort Trip! Part 1. It was meant to be a getaway after graduation but it ended up to be more than what we expected. A perfect break from 4 years of studying. The 2 day - 1 night getaway was packed with plenty of activities, fun, amusement and laughters. Thats what u get when you put 6 crazy, adrenalin-junkie guys together. (the pictures below are all from Fuso, THE photographer) We met @ HarbourFront MRT at 8 in the morning with the likes of Zul and Khai getting there on time which signals a good start to the trip! Hehee.. Then our main organisers (Faisal and Huz) settle the tix while the rest starts to find a place to have our breakfast. Abang Z @ Banquet harbourFront. < Khai tekun makan. dah laparrr... Our Ferry, Batam Fast (i think!) made its journey at 930am. Thanx to Faisal, i kinda like this picture alot! Khai muka step hensem. Huz, no comment. We reached Batam! Happy nampak!!!! Alhamdulillah, somehow we managed to get 3 chalet-type rooms instead of typical hotelrooms which is actually not what we are supposed to get. So we are kinda lucky. These rooms are directly facing the beach and the waters. But the setback is that these rooms are furthest away from the main building. wrote on 11:28 pm.
