Ever since I started working temporary admin staff at TTSH while giving tuitions and Mendaki tuitions too, I realise the importance of "saving money". Thrifty evolved into "lokek". You see, an MRT trip to Novena already cost me $1.50. A 2 way trip already costs $3.00. Then my lunch there costs $2.40 for a typical chicken rice for Staff. Once in a while, i try something nicer for a change. Like ayam penyet or mee.. To cut costs, I brought my own drink from the pantry.
In one day, I would spend about 6 bucks for a meal and transport. Well if i meet Nisaa after work, i increase my budget to about $10-$12 just for that day. IF not, its a strict $6 bucks and dinner has to be eaten at home! I guess this is all about making sure I dont spend aimlessly on stuffs I dont need. Also I might need the cash for future needs.
SO currently this temp job will keep me busy and expand my bank account while I search high and low for a full time job. Alhamdulillah i see this as a blessing in disguise. I become more patient. I realise that I have to fulfil the "amanah" or responsibilities of my tutees..
Today, my workplace opens up one "lobang" for temporary position because my new-found friend Khairul is leaving to study in NTU. So I gave that position to my NUS silat friend Daud who shares the same destiny as me - looking for jobs desperately. Since the job allows us to terminate when we found a perm job, I guess its worthwhile to put in some time to get some $$$ rather than staying at home and rot. Betul tak, daud?
I miss going gym in the afternoon, waking up to jog early morning at Bedok Reservoir and trying to clock a better timing everytime i run, miss waking up late, miss cycling when im bored.......
