Why i cannot take it when girls talk alot!! We guys like to think we're tough. We were brought up to be tough. Don't cry when you fall down. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and laugh about it. We get roughed up in the school yard and we're tempered in the army, all the while keeping the upper lip stiff. Nothing scares us. Well, almost nothing. Because if we were really honest, what really scares us are three simple words: Can we talk? Nine letters to reduce the crabbiest, meanest S.O.B. into a dithering, perplexed mess.  "we appreciate silence" Because men don't talk. We don't. We're doers. We're the hunters and gatherers: always have been, always will. Forget about the X-Men. This DNA strand ain't never gonna be broken. And if we talk, it's going to be about the things that define us as men - cars, football, that hot chick in accounts, music and movies. We don't talk about the emotional scars left by our parents' divorce, what we're going to wear to the wedding, and we certainly don't sit around discussing our feelings, for crying out loud. "Woman talk" So why do women continue to insist on "talking" to us? And why do they want to talk about really, really weird things like What are you feeling? Did you realise you really hurt me with that comment? Where is this relationship heading?  These are not questions that can be answered; otherwise, someone at some stage in our evolutionary chain would have done it a long time ago. So what makes our women think that we are going to be able to crack the answer this time round? Of course, an entire multibillion dollar coffee industry has been created around the fact that women like to gather to talk. For a long time. About anything and everything, and especially about feelings and relationships. At any time of the day or night. It's Nature's way of making sure we don't go mad by having to think too hard about things that we are not genetically programmed to think, much less talk, about. So. Can we talk? RED MONDAY!!  This group of peeps has been my 'gang' since i went into ICES and we make it a point to wear something of the same colour every MONDAY. Last week was brown but this week's theme is red!
