WOMEN'S ENGLISH

Understanding woman is difficult. really. we guys need help though so here is a list of what woman really mean when they say something.

Extracted from a website.

Yes = No

No = Yes.

Maybe = No.

We need = I want.

I'm sorry = You'll be sorry.

We need to talk = I need to complain

Sure, go ahead = I don't want you to.

Do what you want = You'll pay for this later.

I'm not upset = Of course I'm upset, you moron!

Are you listening to me?? = Too late, you're dead.

You have to learn to communicate = Just agree with me.

Be romantic, turn out the lights = I have flabby thighs.

You're so .. manly = You need a shave and you sweat a lot.

Do you love me? = I'm going to ask for something expensive.

It's your decision = The correct decision should be obvious by now.

You're certainly attentive tonight = Is sex all you ever think about?

I'll be ready in a minute = Kick off your shoes and find a good game on TV

How much do you love me? = I did something today that you're really not going to like.

Manifestasi 2007 review.

This is post number 99. one short of a record 100.

Manifestasi 2007 was done in auditorium at TPJC last friday and since one of my tuition kid is currently studying in TPJC, i managed to get the tix to watch this year production.

Post review of my previous JC show: superb! good enough for me.

me and nisaa..

got a lousy seat right at the top left hand corner of the auditorium.

meet farhana and her bf before the show

"The Main Act"

Titled 'Khilaf', this year TPJC MCS production bears no surprise as the plot sucks. Hah. what a way to start this review. No seriously the plot was predictable. Thanx farhana for sharing with me her expected ending right when the show starts.

It all began with a drunk father who two-timed his wife and divorced his real wife after she gave birth. The baby was then sent to another family living in next kampung. He then married his lover and brought his son along to stay with his new wife.

"the start of the show"

That son grew up and met someone he loves who turned out to be his own sister. He only found out the truth after he married that girl. EEEWWWWWWWW... super gross.

incest!

However the actors and actresses made up for that lousy plot with their wonderful acting. the cast had many good prospects who indulge themselves in the character so well, we thought the main actor was chinese guy who speaks malay.

That guy deserved praises for his chinese accent and his drunked acting which complements the role well.

above: the guy who married his sister. urgh!

a scene from Khilaf

The Dikir Barat

girls first!!

look at that, man. 22 girls forming the Dikir Barat gals. isnt that too many people!!

as always, they have to have gimmicks at the start to show that this performance blends with the main act.

So my ratings:

awok-awok voice = 8/10 (due to loudness)
choice of song = 6/10
creativity = 6.5/10
Karut and Juara = 7/10
costume = 7.5/10

overall performance = 7/10

The girls dikir really captures my attention but i think 22 gals on stage for dikir is abit too many. nonetheless, the movements are harmonized and well coordinated. One down part is their choice of song which is kinda boring. typical dikir with no added creativity.

The Guys DIKIR!

nowadays dikir barat has never been a professional performance where u expect the guys to be seating neatly as the curtain draws. So it was no surprise when the dikir barat guys came into the stage as actors chasing after the main cast who turned out to be the Juara.

In short, it was super kecoh but funny.

nice attire, nice posture, same name.... satria kirana

wonderful pose as the dikir barat guys starts to make the crowd go wild.

personally i give two thumbs up for the guys dikir barat. Flawless i might add but it hinges on good choice of music, funny gimmicks, intricate hand movements and a Karut who looks like Syed Faizal brother.

another gimmick for laughter

So my ratings:

awok-awok voice = 7/10
choice of song = 9/10
creativity = 8/10
Karut and Juara = 7.5/10
costume = 7.5/10

overall performance = 8/10

TARIAN

I share the view of many who deems the tarian as lacking in choreographical skills, bad use of cloth, boring music, amateurish dancing and having no impact on the audience.

these gals look like they have lost the will to dance.

In short, it was worthwhile to return to my old JC and watch a production which i once grazed together with my buddies. hah the good old days. Dont even wanna remember it.

may next year be a better one.
