" A contrast of studying at Engin and Science faculty"

Ok i may seem alittle discriminating from the title but this is just a matter-of-fact, funny entry that bears no grudges on anyone. So, let me explore the different facts through these pics.
I had my 1st overnight in school yesterday with musab and jai. We all brought sarong coincidentally so we took a pic outside the chemical engine computer lab at 3am.

The workload is so terrible this semester that we actually had 3 professors each for 2 modules and 2 lecturers for another module. In all, i have 11 professors teaching just 6 modules. 2 Projects were given last week. So in fact, there IS a need to do work in school till late. How i hope i can get rid of this semester fast. Seriusly!!

My fateful pc that i used for more than 16 hours in school on friday. Messed up notes and tired eyes are common for university guys like me (i havent start mugging mind you). Coffee and coke were my late-night buddies and a hallucinating mind when u reach 4am is common. Went to Cheers near YIH in the early morning too.

##### Ok now From the Faculty of Science ####

(sorry for the quality of the pics)

I know how much work there is when u started university days but when u are tired of studying, what do u do?? Some people chat on msn , some pray, some sleep, some eat alot, some watch Tv, but i know of some guys who actually dance to RnB!! hahahahaha..

Im sure they are having a good time, dancing along and trying out moves they wont do in front of people. i can sense they are having fun!!

Fyi, these are some of the activities NUS guys take when they are stressed from studying. For me, its just staring at blank space and hoping that im in another dimension and not in NUS.

" Down Memory Lane"

It is only a momemt ago when i turn on the TV that i saw an ad about kids with cerebral palsy. It didnt took me a few secs to remember someone so dear to me who was born handicapped and has brain malfunction and who lived her life together with my grandma throughout her life.

I recall the late Kak Linda (thats what i used to call her) who was born handicapped, cannot speak nor walk, has brain malfunction and however has the ability to remember people close to her. When i was in my primary school days, my relatives used to gather together in my late grandma house every friday. I recall how Kak Linda would drag herself to the gate when my family arrives. According to my late grandma, she loves me and my sis. So when my late grandma mentions 'wan' or 'sabariah', she would smile with glee and she will clapped her hands with much gestures.

Now i miss all those moments when i would salam her hand (she is the oldest grandchild to my grandmother and would be 30+ if she is alive) when i drop by grandma's place and then tried playing with her aoround the house. Though she cant speak nor stand, my grandma loves her alot. Caring for her in her 3-room flat (my grandma lives alone with her after grandpa died). After my auntie gave birth to her long time ago, Kak linda was already under the care of my grandma who accepts her when my auntie refused to accept the fact that her 1st child was a handicapped.

My mom always tell me that kak Linda will go to heavens as she didnot have any sins and how she was born to Earth as an example to people who are born without any deformaties.

Kak linda passed away 2 years after my grandma died 5 years ago. During that time, she returned to the arms of her original mother who took cared of her until she passed away after battling cancer. i can vivdly remember the day when she closed her eyes for the last time and weigh so meagrely that when my dad carried her from the hospital bed, she is as small as a child. I shed tears when i see her condition during her battle with cancer. She left this world without fears and lived this life without worries, knowing there are people around her who cared for her.

Kak Linda, i will always remember u and u will always be in my heart.

Wan.

" A new background image"

After this blog has been set up like a month or less, i thought of giving it a new fresher look. A change from an anime-based one to a more natural and peaceful view. Also, i want to add depth to the blog texture. I simply love the view and how it calms me whenever i see and reflect myself through the endless skies and the serenity of the lake.

a sort of a getaway that i would want to go to when i have the money and when i have time to travel to these kind of places. not impossible i guess but maybe after i get married. Honeymoon maybe! Significantly, i can even see myself as if im sitting in that 'sampan' and look at the wonder of nature. Very Sentimental!!! or like what i always like to say in malay, "JIWANG bABE!"

"My worries..."

Worry no. 1:

Today i was called up for an interview at ICES at Jurong Island. It was last minute coz i only received the email only yesterday afternoon. It reads that the interviewer is going to be the researcher himself. In my case it was Dr. Sanggu Kim. A korean professor who takes his Chemical Enginnering Phd in USA.

It has been so long since i last went for an interview. The last one was for a part time job as a library customer service officer back a year and half ago. It was easy back then coz i dont need to worry so much if i dont get in and there is nothing to prepare for it.

But this time, i did something remarkable. I studied for this interview. Hahaha.. I mean LITERALLY. Since my job is a research based and i was shortlisted for a microemulsion formulation using nanotechnology and all, so i actually read up on my textbook and search the Net and studied profusely for Ternary Phase Diagram. worried sick that the prof might ask me to explain this and that. And worried that they might even test on my theoretical knowledge.

So.... Since ICES is at Jurong island, i realise i took 1 and 1/2 hour just to reach that place (a van pick us up at JE mrt). Its at the far end of JI. And my interview took only 15minutes with me being the 1st guy in! Smartly dressed, i meet Dr. KORean GUY.

Cannot Understand What he is saying!!

he speaks with a slang that half the time i was trying to decipher his words!!! And soon i realise he didnt even test me on my thereotical knowledge!!

ALAMAK! waste my time! So now i hope i can get selected to have a hands-on to what i have studied. waiting patiently for an answer..

Worry no. 2

Just yesterday, during my last midterm test, when me,ghaz and musab were busy transferring answers from our prep notes to the answer sheet, i saw something.....

~~this chinese gal who sit next to one of my frends actually went down and sabotage all 3 of us by telling the prof that we copied. I saw the girl pointing to the 3 of us. OH MAN!

So then me and my friends worried SICK that our test on that day might get an F or he might take action lah. But the prof didnt even come to us and didnt even ask our names and all.

IS THAT A BAD SIGN?????

we gave our scripts and then left. Praying SO HARD that he close one eye and let us go. Till now, no email from him so im pretty sure he doesnt care lah. He doesnt recognise us and thats for sure. SO whenever i open my email, i hope i wont get any email from him to 'come and see me in my office' ..

"RAYA 2006 GEMPAQ.... unforgettable!"
This year 'Raya 2006-Gempaq' has accomplished its goals just over the weekend. It was an unforgettable moment for me as my close buddies and jc/university friends celebrate this joyous Lebaran amongt the angst, 'step' and tiredness. But i wont touch on this coz it might be spoiling my mood.
Millions of thanks to those who have make this year Gempaq a success and may next year be even better. My apologies to not able to show all the pics but i will let these pictures highlight my journey in these 2 days.
On saturday, four of us started going out after zuhur and somehow every house cooks for us and we end up going home close to midnight though fad drives his dad's car. Nonetheless, it was fun and a wonderful experience for me!

(me + nisaa + sap + fad celebrating over on sat together)

(a pic with helmi, my long lost secondary school friend)

(me and nisaa with a portrait picture)

~~GEMPAQ 2006 STARTS HERE~~

Following pictures are taken on sunday, all 11 of us went on a GEMPAQ mission to conquer each other houses and also to keep in touch with others. Though other main figures are not in this mission particularly my brudder Horis (give him a hug man!), it was a superb day with so much angst, tokyo drifts, photo-friendly and fun.

(the 1st batch of guys arriving under Zoh's blok.. smart and bergaya beb!")

(2nd stop was to musab's sister wedding. Here we take a photo with the groom, a Nigerian)

(yes thats me with my 'bike'... racer is in my blood)

(team ferrari led by Schumacher Talib who beats the red light just to bring u fast action on the road)

(2 cars 11 guys no motorcyle = all squeezed + menyumpah2.. hmm i wonder what these guys are looking at)

(a group photo taken at Huz house and his dad sacrifice for his son's enjoyment so that Huz can use the car. Thanx Huz dad!)

(Awie house was next and his dad gave us green packet! i rarely get that now)

(my house became a lepak ground and was the centre of movie collections. to those who take my movie pls return it and dont lose them)

(sameer house was the 2nd last and boy do we have a good time as we finish early this year. Everyone smiling away with sameer in the middle...All tired but happy )
(can u see that talib resembles the sketch of the molester that is being displayed? So is Talib the culprit? Could he has done it?... only he knows)
So there you go.. not many pictures are here so u guys need to get it from me. Overall, though we dont have any video inputs from Pey due to unforeseen emotional distress and whatever except from hp and camera feeds, we had a good time. Thanx for those who make this a success.
May 2007 will be better and bigger perhaps!
